Have a laugh on me

We're not all in the same boat, some of us struggle to even get in the boat!

Because I have no shame I’m flashing – back in time that is!

I LOVE the idea of flashing back in time to find out more about follow bloggers.

As a teenager I went to many school/uni balls and here’s the evidence.

I gotta say at the time I thought I looked shit hot in some of these dresses.

Although I do look like a hooker and a bride in two of these photos – please have a laugh on me!

This is probably my least cringe worthy photo - but I borrowed my sister's dress which is probably way.

What a shocker - even the shocking red lippie, and I purposely didn't show you the very high cut split at the front of this racy number

Check out my rosy red cheeks, I was either really drunk or the velvet dress was slowly smothering me

No I didn't get married at 17, I just wanted to be different, I look about 80 years old hair with the hairdo and gloves!

I am linking up with Cathy @ The Camera Chronicles for Flashback Friday – I hope it takes off for her, it’s nice to have another photo linky!

So go on – embarrass yourself – it’s liberating and good for the soul 🙂

Author: Have A Laugh On Me

I'm a mum to three, write from home and I rarely cook, craft or clean but admire those who do. I try to live by the mantra that there's no point in worrying about something that might not happen! Be warned this is not a fluffy, sweet mummy blog, rather a place where you can cringe, laugh and be shocked at my brutally honest take on my life.

  1. Lol love it!! Thank you for linking up! Omg I haven’t dug up my formal photos yet but let’s just say, I look hideous in them! The red lips, high splits, gloves, velvet…sadly, I can relate to it all 🙂

  2. Oh, once I get my scanner up and running again, I’m totally going to share some of my formal photos. Absolutely hilarious! You know you don’t look half as bad as you think, right?! 🙂

  3. Oh I don’t think I’d want to share any old pics. I had the most tragic hair! 🙂

  4. LOL I think we all have some of these “dress” pics hidden away somewhere where we all think that we are “shit hot”
Great post, I love that we can all have a laugh at ourselves and join in the fun with everyone who dares 🙂

  5. Two words. Good Lord!!
I love it when people can laugh at themselves… Nothing better.
    Very cute pics ;o)

  6. Love it! Omg I am totes going to do this next week. I spend a goodly amount of time putting amusing snaps from the days of yore on the ole blog anyway! The dressed are magnificent.

  7. My school friends and I often laugh at how we look like the cast of Bold and the Beautiful in our formal/ball photos. I do remember the old sweetheart neckline velvet dress look – I had one very similar. At least it looks like you always had a date!

  8. AAhhhh… not at all sure about that black velvet number??!!

  9. Awesome! What a great idea. Defo will join the fun next week. V.

  10. Love it! That photo of you in the “not a wedding dress” white looks like a creepy guy in a mask has grabbed you from behind.

  11. I was a huge fan of the dark lippy as a teenager. I teamed it with geisha style white face make up. I was like a Twilight loving vampire fan way ahead of my time. Some would say I was an early trend setter. Most would say I was a fashion tragic geisha wannabe. Ahem.

  12. Thanks for sharing … I kinda liked your dresses, am I strange or what?!

  13. I really like the red dress! You look far better than I did in some of my old photo’s! LOL

  14. Nothing too embarrassing there. Okay, the black gloves with the white dress are weird, but I’m sure I could dig up weirder in my photographic archives!

  15. I should dig up a picture of my Year 12 formal dress that my mum made for me – yes, it was as bad as it sounds so that’s possibly why I will not try too hard to find that particular photo! I’ve said it before, you have balls woman!
