I'm a mum to three, write from home and I rarely cook, craft or clean but admire those who do. I try to live by the mantra that there's no point in worrying about something that might not happen! Be warned this is not a fluffy, sweet mummy blog, rather a place where you can cringe, laugh and be shocked at my brutally honest take on my life.

  1. Soooo cute! She looks like she has heaps of personality! I’m sure she will love this new adventure!

  2. Your pics capture the importance of the day! What is the age gap between your kids? I thought I was busy! A great Wordless Wednesday!

    • So I had 3 kids in 3.5 years – they are all close to 21 months apart. If you trawl back through old blogs you’ll find that No.3 was a ‘surprise’ and not one that jumps out of a cake on your 30th!!!! But he’s much loved now (most of the time 😉
And I bet you are super busy, as far as I’m concerned anyone with more than 2 kids deserves an f-ing medal, a lifetime supply of booze and a chef! I appreciate your visit Lisa xxxx

  3. i’m so glad the first day is behind us! much easier today! glad M had a wonderful day x

  4. such precious & beautiful pictures of a big milestone!!
    And you have beautiful children!

  5. She’s such a little possum, I bet she had the best day 🙂

  6. Awwwwww, my little darling started today!
I didn’t cry until I read that note either!!
Gorgeous photos, they grow up way too fast.

    • I hope she had a great day today Thea!!! And that she’s looking forward to day 2! Isn’t that note a tear jerker – it was written by a mother so that’s why it’s so great I reckon. I look forward to hearing how your darling went : )

  7. Not having children yet, I find it hard sometimes to understand the feelings of parents. But that poem is quite emotional. Can I apply it to leaving my dog at the groomers? (I don’t mean to undermine anyones emotions, purely a joke, sort of)

    • Hell yes Rachel you so can, until you have a baby that you grew inside you, birthed and then fed, then your dog is totally your baby! I gotta say, having a dog and baby is kinda the same, as in regards to unconditional love and commitment – sort of 🙂

  8. Aw – what a great first day!

  9. What a great record of a first day.

  10. Oh I would have just bawled at that note. I hate first day of a new kindy room so school is going to be so hard when we get there. Looks like she had a good first day though

  11. Nawww she looks knackered in that last pic. Miss 16 had her first day back at school today (Year 12!) and she has nodded off on the couch!

  12. what an amazing note from the teacher. That would make me feel fine about leaving my child for the day.

  13. Aww, I love how you capture her day! x

  14. I’m so happy she had a good day! What a great note from the teacher!

  15. Aww it’s great you got so many brilliant photos to remember her special day by 🙂

  16. That little note for parents is so sweet, and the photo of all of them, I can tell the youngest is very cheeky, look at him! Great post to document her first day.

  17. Great photos! I love the letter from the teacher. So sweet!

  18. Love that to-do list. Great pics.

  19. First day of school! Woohoo! Only about 20 more years until they are all finished! 🙂 That letter from the teacher is great, too.

  20. Don’t you love how absolutely smashed they are at the end of their first day? Our youngest fell asleep super early on her first day at daycare a few weeks back – it was adorable until she woke up at 11pm that night for dinner and partying… Hope your daughter’s positive start to school continues for her and you all, Emily.

  21. Totally gorgeous girl and gorgeous pics! x

  22. What a big day for you! Oh, and for her too 🙂
