Have a laugh on me

We're not all in the same boat, some of us struggle to even get in the boat!

The best thing about having sisters is…….

Sisters, sissies, blisters – here are mine – aren’t they the shiz?

My sissies - I LOVE THESE GIRLS!!

Jumping for their lives!!

(I’m so going to be in the shit for not asking before using these – SORRY SISSIES 🙂 )

Does this background look familiar? YEP - it's where the McAwesome header photo came from, on the way to Port Douglas, Qld

Check out the air my super hot sisses are getting!

But you know what, they won’t stay mad at me long because they’re my sisters – my best friends in the entire world and I am thankful for them!

Sisters will always try to understand what you’re saying and even if they don’t – they will take your word for it.

Sisters don’t judge, they love.

Sisters borrow your clothes and sometimes forget to give them back (hee hee Saree – just kidding).

Sisters can tell each other they can’t be arsed talking on the phone because they’re too tired, shitty or teary.

Yep - we are all a little bit AWESOME!

Yep – we are all a little bit AWESOME!

Sisters can cry on your shoulder and then laugh in your face 10 minutes later.

Sisters can tell you off for acting like a princess.

Sisters will look out for you and warn you about ‘friends’ who they think aren’t genuine.

Sisters can burp, fart and pick their nose in your company – (you know who you are!)

Sisters will come and look after your three young children so you can stay in bed past 6am.

I’m so thankful to have TWO of them – in fact I often wish my daughter had a sister because they ROCK!

In saying that, eight hells would have to freeze over before I had 4th child to possibly make that happen.

Do you have sisters? Brothers? What is the best thing about your sibling/s?

Author: Have A Laugh On Me

I'm a mum to three, write from home and I rarely cook, craft or clean but admire those who do. I try to live by the mantra that there's no point in worrying about something that might not happen! Be warned this is not a fluffy, sweet mummy blog, rather a place where you can cringe, laugh and be shocked at my brutally honest take on my life.

  1. I’m an only child, so there was no way I was only having one child myself, I really wanted my kids to have at least one sibling. I’d love a sister!

  2. I have two wonderful sisters also. Like you, I feel for my daughter sometimes as she doesn’t have any – but then as I often tell her, she has a wonderful Mum (!), and I didn’t (I will talk a bit about this on the blog tomorrow …)

  3. Sisters are the best! I love both of my sisters 🙂

  4. Love my brother and sisters. It is true you can fight with them and then they come crawling back for help advice or in our case a drink!

  5. Your sisters look as crazy as you! Family trait I imagine ;p

Sisters are the bomb though you are right. I only have one but she is beyond awesome

  6. I’m from a blended type of family .. I have 1 brother ..
Then 1 sister from Mum to her 2nd husband..
Then 2 brothers and 2 sisters to Dad’s second marriage..
Although I dont see the ones on Dad’s side often I still refer to them as my siblings.
Never the half or step but brother/sister!

I also have 7 of my own children!!

Coming by from Blogs & PR!!

  7. I wish that I had a sister. I have one brother so we have had our ups and downs. Im intrigued as to how my boys will grow together. With 4 of them, I hope so much they end up good mates! Fingers crossed xxxxx

  8. I have two sisters, we’re not very close.. never really have been! Guess its different in every family! 🙂 You and your sisters look awesome!

  9. I have one sister and love how I can just be myself in front of her.
Do you think you’ll be in strife now Em? Great post, so it’ll be worth it. xx

  10. I have a sister & a brother. My brother lives in London, my sister in NSW. We are close even though I am in Perth though. Your sisters look just as crazy as you! I bet you guys have a blast when you get together.

  11. I’m embarrassed to say that for as long as I’ve known you, I still could only tell which one was you in the last picture by your glasses. You and S are that much alike in that pic! (granted it’s only mouth-up!). I have 2 sisters too, and the best thing about them both is they’re now mums, too, so we have that in common which is awesome.

    • I can’t see it but others can – and yes I’m the only one with kids (so far) but it also means I have too willing baby sitters who aren’t too tired looking after their own babes – xx 🙂 xx

  12. I have a sister, but we are not close I’m sad to say. She is a career girl and I am a Mum and our paths just don’t cross very much these days 😦 via #TUST xx

  13. I know exactly what you mean! I have THREE sisters and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. I also secretly feel bad for my daughter that she doesnt have a sister (she has two brothers) but this oven has well and truly shut up shop so that won’t be happening!! Can’t half tell those girls are your sisters! lol You’re like peas in a pod! xo

  14. You guys look like heaps of fun…. I have 4 sisters and sometimes they drive me mad and I do nothing but whinge about them (LOL) but I think the best thing about sisters is that I know they’ve got my back and will always be there….they don’t have a choice!

  15. I adore my sister but she lives a whole country away and I rarely get the chance to see her. The photos of you sisters are fab! You look like you have a load of fun! 🙂

  16. Great to see you having such a strong relationship with your sisters 😉
I’ve 2 older sisters but our age gap is quite big at 8 & 9 years so although I love them, we’ve never been thaaaaaat close to just jump wildly in the air heehee

  17. I have three sisters and life would definitely not be anywhere near as good without them. Despite the fact that we used to fight like cats and dogs when we were all living under the one roof we are great friends now. One of my sisters, A, is only 2 years younger than me so we have a lot more in common and have more of a mutual ‘friendship’ type relationship rather than the traditional big sister/little sister dynamic, however my other two sisters are 6 and 8 years younger than me and there is definitely that big sister/little sister vibe. They seek my opinion and approval of things and look up to me in a way that makes me feel all warm and squishy (when they are not driving me nuts that is!). They all love Punky so much and would do anything for her, the same as they would for me, and its lovely to have a number of willing baby-sitters!

  18. Great photos Emily! I have a sister and a brother, but it’s not always a big plain sailing love-in between us. Still, I wouldn’t be without them and I really hope to encourage a strong bond between my own kids.

  19. I have one of each… love them but we’re better off together in very small doses. At least we all understand that!
    Love your photos! x

  20. I only have a brother – who i love dearly and is awesome, but I suspect the bond is not quite as ‘let it all hang out’ as it is with sisters. I see how tight my girls are and I love it (and slightly envy it). DAMN how much alike are you@? I’m gonna be dumb now – are you twins?

  21. Awesome post. Your sisters are very cool, makes me want a catch up with mine 🙂

  22. This post makes me so happy. I really hope that my two girls have the kind of relationship that you have with your gorgeous sisters.

  23. Wow! Looks like your sisters are as crazy and wild as you, Em! In a good way! 🙂
Alas, I have no sisters but 2 older brothers. We have our stages when we’re really close then times when not so much. Still. I’ll do anything for them and love them to pieces x

  24. Love this! And I so get it! I have 3 sisters, and I’d never be without them 🙂

  25. I am an only child. But I have plenty of sisters. And we are close and crazy and love each other dearly. We have known each other longer than we haven’t. It feels good.
You look like you had a blast!
Love the new blog banner 🙂

  26. LOVE this Emily! I too am one of three girls and i have no idea what Id do without them…my bestest friends!

  27. I grew up with brothers, and have a half sister who grew up on the other side of the world. I spent a year getting to know her ins London in 2005 and it was the best thing about that year. I always longed for a sister when I was growing up. Watching my girls now, even these first 6 months, I am so glad they have each other. Love those photos! x

  28. Love your photos – you look so like one of them it’s uncanny! I’m so glad that my girls will grow up sisters. Funny, lots of people assume that parents want “one of each”, but I was stoked to have two girls.

  29. Yep I have one sister. Growing up we fought like crazy! But since being adults have become the best of friends. My daughter would like a sister and my son would like a brother (I have 1 boy and 1 girl) but they are stuck with each other. I hope they can still be close when they grow up.

  30. What a lovely post. It really made me smile. I don’t have sisters but am lucky to have two wonderful SILs who are pretty special 🙂 Love the photos!

  31. I do have a sister and she lives too far away. I miss her tons!
