Have a laugh on me

We're not all in the same boat, some of us struggle to even get in the boat!

When there’s nothing left to do but grin and bear it – Wordless Wednesday

Right now it’s taking all my strength to get through each day with toddlers who wake at 4.30/5am and then fight, scream, ignore or talk my head off non-stop from DAWN TIL DUSK!

I’m tired, not just your average tired, the nothing left in the tank tired.

But thankfully it’s Wordless Wednesday so I’m posting pics to remind myself how privileged I am to be the caregiver and mum of three gorgeous shits souls.

They send me to the deeps of insanity EVERY day - especially when they just laugh at me when I tell them off.

Author: Have A Laugh On Me

I'm a mum to three, write from home and I rarely cook, craft or clean but admire those who do. I try to live by the mantra that there's no point in worrying about something that might not happen! Be warned this is not a fluffy, sweet mummy blog, rather a place where you can cringe, laugh and be shocked at my brutally honest take on my life.

  1. You poor thing! Honestly, some days i think toddlers were sent here purely to test us! xx

  2. I get that feeling too , hope you a break today xo. Gorgeous cherubs.

    • I didn’t get a break yesterday but I did today – when I was waiting to pick up my eldest from school a few people said I looked so relaxed – I told them it was because the boys were in daycare on Thursdays! x

  3. aww they look so adorable! but yes, I totally get how little angels can turn to little monsters in the blink of the eye!
My girl was sick the last few weeks so was rather grumpy and sticky.. but glad she’s feeling better now and not as bad a little monster as she can be when ill!

  4. Miss Three currently in her room screeching about the fact that her lego casts shadows (something I can obviously fix, I’ll just cut them of then shall I?), but to be honest she’s generally pretty good and she has no one to fight with except me, so I can’t really complain!

    • At least she has a relevant reason to complain, nothing worse than those selfish Lego men being in the way 🙂 Mine just moan for the hell of it and because they are one of three and have to compete for attention! Thanks for comment K – Em x

  5. Oh mate, I think I would throttle someone if they were waking at that ungodly hour! It’s torture, literally!

I discovered last night after I put Punky to bed, the reason for her quietness earlier in the afternoon. She’d drawn all over the backroom floor with pen. Thankfully our floors are shit anyway, and pen is relatively easy to get off.

Here’s hoping your kids figure out appropriate waking up times extremely soon! You should really start planning all the ways you intend to wake them at that hour when they are teenagers, it might not make up for the sleep you’re missing but at least it will keep you amused!

  6. I was so grateful to put Ollie to bed today. Im battling the flu and he has learnt to climb, not successfully though. Oh good lord, the tears…… Bring on the end of the day! xxxx

    • Well unfort my wee O can climb on anything! I wish he was still in a cot! I know it doesn’t sound great but I’m glad I’m not the only one. But you have three more above his age, so what am I complaining about? Em x

  7. Hmmmm. Am I actually getting more sleep than you?!

    Gorgeous pics. They’re adorable. x

  8. Oh Em, the toddler years are a challenge, hey? Lucky they’re so gorgeous! xx

  9. Tee hee hee such gorgeous cheeky faces. Let’s see – Miss 16’s room is STILL a disaster – if I ever see the floor again it will be because she’s moved out. Mr 19 on Sunday is sweet – when I see him – which as he works evenings is not very often!

  10. Gorgeous shits! One day we’re going to turn around in the car and all those seats will be gone and we’ll long for these days ;o(

  11. Oh I feel your pain…I caught mine poking a wooden spoon into dog poo & that was after I did a poo run!!

  12. OH Em, I had to laugh!! Thank GOD it’s Mother’s day on Sunday! If you could have seen our house during the devils hour of bath/tea/bed tonight – CHAOs I tell you!!!!

  13. I hear you on the nothing left in the tank tired. I have been begging for a break since September last year. Where did you get your 5 year old that entertains herself, though? My 5 year old was once like that until she started school and now she needs constant entertainment! I hope you got a break or if you didn’t, that you will soon.

    • My five-year-old loves glitter pens and craft so I’m lucky. Sorry to hear you are dead empty also. Your gorgeous video just made my heart melt, LOVE IT! I hope YOU get a break this Sunday! Em x

  14. Before you know it they will all be 5 – seriously think you need some rest though – however you can get it. Maybe one of those clocks too that say night time and daytime so the kids know when then are allowed to wake up. We have an early riser but Hubby looks after him until 6am luckily!

    • We just bought those clocks, we should have just said YES when we saw them 6 weeks ago. Hubby is gone by 4.50 every morning so I never cut a break in the AM, which is probably why things drive me SO mental! Em x

  15. My 9 year old son “accidentally” purchased XBOX Gold Live. This means that rather than just have internet access on his XBOX to receive important game updates, he can now play XBOX against his friends who are sitting in their own homes. He is only 9 so we didn’t want to go down this track until he is 13. But the other day I came home to tears as he confessed that he accidentally pushed the “purchase” button when he was looking at the Gold options to see if they were on sale at the moment. So now he has it. And we’re paying a monthly fee. We haven’t let him use it yet though ….. we’re still in discussions.

    • Oh Leanne what a great son you have, to confess to you. I’m dreading all that stuff down the track. Maybe you and your hubby should play it for a bit to see what it’s like? Thanks for visit 🙂 Em

  16. You need a West Coast Cooler with a side of scotch!
