Have a laugh on me

We're not all in the same boat, some of us struggle to even get in the boat!

Why we all need time at the beach – Wordless Wednesday

The love of my love and I had lunch at the beach mid-week – a rare treat for us!

Oops - I got a bit carried away!

Oops – I got a bit excited and overfilled my glass! And check out that bread platter – BOOM!

I couldn't waste it!

I couldn’t waste it!

Almost composed.

I'm a mum to three, write from home and I rarely cook, craft or clean but admire those who do. I try to live by the mantra that there's no point in worrying about something that might not happen! Be warned this is not a fluffy, sweet mummy blog, rather a place where you can cringe, laugh and be shocked at my brutally honest take on my life.

  1. What a gorgeous day out with hubby! I LOVE the beach. Can never get enough of it! Whenever I’m struggling in life, I head to the beach 🙂

  2. Love some time out at the beach. It’s like a sanity recharger!
I was going to say you’re wasting good booze lol.
The kids and I went down to Beachport yesterday, it was so windy we only ventured to the playground. Would have been nice to walk along the beach.

  3. Oh just paint me green and call me Kermit!

  4. Oh wow, looks amazing…. and warm! Lucky you. If I was at the beach near my place today I’d be wearing about 10 layers and be walking into the wind that is coming straight from the Antarctic! I’m glad you can make the most of that beautiful place where you live. xx

  5. Did you do a table suck in between photos Ems? Looks like a fab day and I can believe you guys are in summer clothes!

  6. Beautiful pics Em. I live near the beach & I couldn’t agree more. Mwa x

  8. Doesn’t it feel so decadent to have lunch mid-week? My husband has been given the day off on Friday and I’ve been working so hard this week, perhaps we should take a page out of your book, huh?

  9. You look HawT , great photos . I loved my sit on the beach Sunday. We are 5+ hrs from the beach now.

  10. Looks like a wonderful date out! Love how you got from over-excited to composed 😉

  11. The weather in Brisbane this week has been perfect Beach weather. Even though we live 45 mins away, we don’t get to the beach as often as I like. Good on you for taking some time out from the kids and with your soul mate. It rejuvenates the soul doesn’t it?

  12. What a great way to spend a day! Love the pics, and yep I can read the words on the beach 🙂
Funny how I LOVE the beach yet I don’t seem to spend enough time there….will have to make the time this week. Thanks for the great reminder – doing something for my self is good for the soul!

  13. We live near the beach but aren’t much beach people… That looks like a yummy lunch!!

  14. Looks like a fantastic day. I live 10 minutes from the beach and it’s sad to say I don’t enjoy it as much as I should. I take it for granted. You’ve inspired me….perhaps it was the first couple of champagne photos that had me hooked 😛

  15. What a lovely day Em! I’m very impressed with your progression to composure 😉 xx

  16. Good on you, Emily, how great is that view from the Southport Surf Club??

  17. Live in a town on the coast and don’t go down there often enough. Thanks for the reminder.

  25. Wow! I’m glad you had a lovely time Em!

  26. Champagne, soulmate, sand, sea … Sounds like u got your batteries recharged darl. Good on u! We all need that, makes us better mums and lovers and friends I say. In fact if one of the parties made it a policy I’d vote for them without a blink.

  27. Love it. And love that you and K got away for a lunch just the 2 of you!! How awesome! xo

  28. I live a short walk from the beach. We do go there but when the seaweeds don’t smell, lol. Otherwise, my 5yo would be like “What’s that smell? You did a pop-off?” all day long!

  29. I grew up inland and now live on the coast. I love going to the beach – but must make an effort more often.

  30. Lovely! It’s so nice to get that time!
