My eagle-eyed and very observant two-year-old (in 3 weeks) found this ant and was amazed by what it was doing!

Here is a close up of what he saw, a small ant pulling probably 10 times its weight in cheese – ain’t nature amazing!
PLUS – here are some photos taken by my daughter near our house at the weekend.
She’s pretty talented I think!

I have to credit the Husband for taking the kids out in the car to see this happening – I was still in bed. I love that man!
Have you been up in a hot-air balloon?
Do you have those big ants that bite and boss you around your own home?
PS – it’s my little sister’s birthday today – HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLISSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE xxx

Well done M! Got a little budding photog there I think Ems! No, never been in a balloon and not sure you could pay me enough to go in one. Fear of heights or claustrophobia, not sure which would get me first!
August 21, 2013 at 1:43 pm
I hope I can get up in one – but it’s big bucks! x

Ants are amazing, so strong and so organised. It’s lovely to photograph the wonder of a child.
Your daughter took some lovely photos of the sunrise. She has a good photographic eye.
I’ve never been up in a balloon. One day I will…one day (sigh).
August 21, 2013 at 1:43 pm
My daughter ADORE taking photos – especially with my phone π
August 21, 2013 at 8:32 am

August 21, 2013 at 8:33 am
I wish I was as strong as an ant! I went up in a hot air balloon a few years ago. I won it! I was scared shitless but loved the experience. x
August 21, 2013 at 1:44 pm
Me too – imagine the things we could do if we were that strong – wishing a ride, what a score π x
August 21, 2013 at 10:34 am
Great eyesight there little one!!
Damn tricky are them ants!
OOOHHH nice air balloons.
Never been in one of them and tbh no desire to do so either!
August 21, 2013 at 1:45 pm
Yes I think it was some of his cheese that he spotted walking away!
August 21, 2013 at 10:53 am
Beautiful shots of the hot air balloons! A part of me wants to give it a shot one day, but another part of me is scared because I’ve heard a few stories of the balloon bursting mid-air and crashing down!!!

You know there have been very few bursts, but when they happen they are fatal π¦ xx
August 21, 2013 at 12:08 pm
The hot air balloon pics are gorgeous. Your little one definitely has some talent! I find great pleasure in squishing ants, annoying little fuckers that they are.
August 21, 2013 at 1:46 pm
Ha ha, so do my boys – they love squishing him, but I’m on the fence, poor things – except when they bite!
August 21, 2013 at 1:02 pm
Nice shots Miss M, you clever girl! The ants around here are the bitey ones, so not my favourite things. x
August 21, 2013 at 1:46 pm
Yes they bite here too – so not a fan of the big ones xx
August 21, 2013 at 1:03 pm
Oh man, I’ve gotta get into bed and send my kids off with the husband. I’m so damn tired!
August 21, 2013 at 1:47 pm
If I’m honest I might have been a bit dusty from the night before π xx
August 21, 2013 at 1:48 pm
Oh I have done hot air ballooning and it was truly one of the greatest things I have ever experienced! Haven’t lifted a ton of cheese bigger than myself though! Great shots!
August 21, 2013 at 2:10 pm
I’m jealous, I can wait to do it – ha ha re cheese – I’ve definitely eaten my weight in cheese!! x
August 21, 2013 at 1:52 pm
Love hot air balloons! Dying to go on one!
August 21, 2013 at 1:58 pm
Yes I might have to get hold of the Gold Coast lot and try and broker a deal, it’s in my to-do that’s for sure! x
August 21, 2013 at 2:42 pm
Beautiful silhouette photos π Your daughter has a good eye for photography!
August 21, 2013 at 2:49 pm
Might be more good luck than good management but she loves taking pics x
August 21, 2013 at 3:53 pm
Wow, nature IS amazing. And so is your talented daughter, and devoted husband. Jeepers, what a guy! Those ballooning photos are great, I’ve never been, but it would love to. xx
August 21, 2013 at 5:01 pm
Yes I truly did well for myself, he’s the best dad ever and is so devoted to us all! Ballooning would rock! Bucket list for sure x
August 21, 2013 at 7:26 pm
What a great find!! Very clever to spot an ant – still can’t believe that it can carry something that big π
Actually I had to look twice at the pic!!! And those hot air balloons look like so much fun!!
August 21, 2013 at 7:34 pm
Yes those ants are pretty clever, it was one of the those big ones that bite – they seem to love our place π¦ Have a great and thanks for visit π
August 21, 2013 at 8:07 pm
Lovely photos! And I’m always amazed by ants…the way in which they carry things that seem to be so heavy in comparison…just incredible. But I’m definitely not a fan of theirs! π
August 21, 2013 at 8:33 pm
Me neither I am – I’m more of a worm girl – no just kidding I hate all things squirmy and wormy! Thanks for visit π
August 21, 2013 at 10:03 pm
I love how enthralled kids get with things like ants. It’s great to stop and notice these things!
What great shots your daughter got, a budding photographer for sure and a husband that gets up to take them to see something like that while you sleep? Awesome!
August 21, 2013 at 10:06 pm
Yes I am ΓΌber lucky B! I wish you had yours home more than you do π¦
And here’s to my sharp-eyed girl! xx
August 21, 2013 at 10:56 pm
You have hot-air balloons in your neighborhood? How cool is that?!
August 25, 2013 at 8:47 pm
They take off from here sometimes depending on the weather! x
August 22, 2013 at 12:12 am
Very fun to ride in a balloon! Nice pictures!
August 25, 2013 at 8:46 pm
I would love to do it one day – thanks for compliment and visit Leovi π
August 22, 2013 at 11:51 am
Wow Em she is very talented!! I would love to go in a balloon one day.
August 25, 2013 at 8:45 pm
Thanks Ann – she LOVES taking pics! And yes I’ll be in a balloon one day x
August 22, 2013 at 12:46 pm
Isn’t it wonderful that your little one notices the wonders around him. Ants are amazingly strong little things! Your girl took some awesome photo’s! I’m not sure that I would be brave enough to go up in a hot air balloon. I like the concept of floating away up there and the amazing views but then I think about how weird it is how it stays up there just coz of a wee fire thingy and how fragile the whole situation seems and the shitty ol fear thing sets in *bah humbug* π
August 25, 2013 at 8:45 pm
He is very clever, WAY ahead of his years Min, truly, he’s going to be a wise boy, especially with two older siblings. You know balloons kinda make more sense than aeroplanes flying!? x
August 22, 2013 at 8:39 pm
Amazing how much weight those ants can carry! What a clever daughter you have! I’ve never been in a hot air balloon. One day…
August 22, 2013 at 8:48 pm
Yes it’s on my to-do list too! Funny thing is I was in bed, slightly dusty from too many vinos and didn’t even know she had my phone! thanks for visiting π
August 23, 2013 at 4:01 pm
I used to live near a park where the balloons launched from, I’d be getting ready for work and I’d hear the WHOOOOOSH that meant a balloon was nearby so outside I would race to take pictures of it! I’ve never been on one though, don’t know if I’m brave enough! xxx
August 25, 2013 at 8:41 pm
The noise is very loud, I would love to get there! Maybe we should hit ’em down here for a two person ride, two blog posts!! x
August 24, 2013 at 2:39 pm
Very impressive photographer, that wee lass. I once went up in a hot air balloon, I’d love to say it was less than 25 years ago but…..
August 25, 2013 at 8:38 pm
Love the wee lass comment, love the Scottish lass that you are! I’m envious – I want to go up in a balloon! xx
