After a recent search of photos I realised that I was in NONE of them – and while it doesn’t really worry me – I know it will upset my kids in years to come. I know this because I’ve hardly seen any photos of my mum with us as kids and I wish there were HEAPS MORE!
So go on – get in the photo next time!
Here’s some we took at dinner the other night while waiting for the Husband to arrive home from work!
Are you in enough photos? Will your children/family members be happy with the amount of photos they have with you in them?

Nothing wrong with a good selfie!
February 19, 2013 at 12:51 pm
I actually prefer now to have my children in there with me – so they can have memories of us together – thanks for visit Bree x
February 13, 2013 at 6:09 am
Used to be the same in my house. Now I have an iPhone, when my kids aren’t taking endless selfies, I am š
February 19, 2013 at 12:51 pm
Glad to hear it – keep it up and don’t forget to post them š
February 13, 2013 at 6:15 am
They’re great photos! And it’s so true, seems that most Mums are behind the camera and not in enough photos. Good idea, get in some more of them!
February 19, 2013 at 12:52 pm
It’s not as though we all love how we look but our kids do and that’s all that matters right?!
February 19, 2013 at 12:53 pm
For sure. x.
February 13, 2013 at 7:02 am
They are great and I agree mums always seem to be taking the photos good for you š
Have a phototastic week š
February 19, 2013 at 12:52 pm
Thanks for comment and visit Steve -had a great week – hope you did too š
February 13, 2013 at 7:29 am
Lovely pictures of you and the lil ones!! I never get in the shot – because my hubby takes terrible photos!
February 19, 2013 at 12:53 pm
Mine usually gets impatient after taking one š¦
February 13, 2013 at 7:49 am
Aww so cute – reminds me to take more with my boys no matter how I look.
February 19, 2013 at 12:53 pm
Definitely Trish because to your boys you will always look like mum xxx š
February 13, 2013 at 8:45 am
I so need to take more too. They will be thankful you took these one day š
February 19, 2013 at 12:53 pm
Please do Alicia – your kids will love you for it – and so will your grandkids xxx
February 13, 2013 at 11:20 am
Awww those are some real gems!! Good on you and how adorable are the children š
February 19, 2013 at 12:54 pm
Thanks Sabeen – I’m totally biased but I reckon they’re adorable – although don’t always ACT adorable š
February 13, 2013 at 1:55 pm
They’re such fun photos Em. This is something i’m working on too xx
February 19, 2013 at 12:55 pm
Thanks Lisa – my theory is as long as I’m looking at the camera, and one of them is the photo will be great š
February 13, 2013 at 2:01 pm
Yes!! For years I was the one behind the camera, and looking back it makes me sad that most of the photos of when the kids were babes, it’s mostly my hubby with them! SO to fix that, I take selfies with and without my children, mostly to *rolly eyes* of my teenagers š
February 19, 2013 at 12:55 pm
I think it’s fantastic, we should embrace ourselves because generations to come will LOVE our photos – thanks for visiting and commenting x
February 13, 2013 at 2:04 pm
I have a ton of selfies that my son will cherish I’m sure haha. Most of them tho are of me complaining about how tired I am because of the little darling.
February 19, 2013 at 12:56 pm
It’s better than having none – don’t worry I moan all the time – doesn’t make your love less real xxxx
February 13, 2013 at 3:50 pm
I’ve been pushing this exact thing this year. So I have a lovely collection of ‘selfies’ of my daughter and I! Including a couple of under water ones lol
February 19, 2013 at 12:57 pm
I recall that underwater one – lovely – glad to hear you’ve taken up this cause also – thanks for visit š
February 13, 2013 at 4:41 pm
I was the same for years! Now my lot are pretty much growed up, it’s really hard to get them to cooperate for photos *sigh*. Looks like your kids are just as crazy as their mumma!
February 19, 2013 at 12:57 pm
They definitely are as busy/crazy as me Janet. As long as you’ve got photos of you for them when they’re older – teens hate pics I remember xx
February 13, 2013 at 5:39 pm
Your kids move around for photos too! I am never in them either but am making more of an effort lately.
February 19, 2013 at 12:58 pm
It’s totally worth it – I never get a good shot but they’re natural I suppose xx
February 13, 2013 at 5:51 pm
I have been trying to do exactly this for the last couple of years. It is never too late to start.
February 19, 2013 at 12:58 pm
I agree, at least I realised now before they got too big š
February 13, 2013 at 6:25 pm
awesome photos! it really is such a “problem” with mums because we usually are the ones taking the photo!
February 19, 2013 at 12:59 pm
We take the photos because we are often best at it – but know I’ll take a photo of me and my darlings however it comes š xx
February 13, 2013 at 6:58 pm
They are awesome photos Emily! I’m sure your kids will love looking at them later on!
February 19, 2013 at 12:59 pm
Thanks Rita, I hope they will see what little cheeky monkeys there were š
February 13, 2013 at 8:20 pm
ahhhh cuteness!!! i really struggle with being in front of the camera, i always feel SO awkward!
February 19, 2013 at 1:00 pm
I don’t exactly love how I look but my kids do – and that is all that matters – next time do it for me š
February 14, 2013 at 6:19 am
Ha! Funny photos…love it!
I’m not in many photos anymore. I’m always saying, “Don’t take a photo of me, I’m too fat!!”
Maybe I should stop that. š
February 19, 2013 at 1:01 pm
You totally have to stop saying that, I used to do that and our kids love us no matter how we look and that’s who I’m taking them for. You are beautiful and your smile is infectious š
February 14, 2013 at 9:27 am
Same in our house! So many lovely photos of DH and my daughter, and hardly any of me and her. I always try and remember now to get him to take some of us when we are out about. Love your pics, so cute š
February 19, 2013 at 1:01 pm
Same here, especially when she was young and it makes me sad, so I’m really making up for it now – thanks for kind words – and the visit š
February 14, 2013 at 12:30 pm
Great pics. I remember to jump in the photos every now and then, but probably not often enough. I just have to not look at them – I might not like them now (with the bags under the eyes and other assorted blah-blah usual excuses), but I’ll love them in years to come.
February 19, 2013 at 1:02 pm
Excuses excuses, do it – and years down the track you will marvel at how awesome and young you looked – TRUE STORY :)xxx
